ABOUT US

T.S. Nurnberger Middle School was built in 1968 and is named for a past superintendent of schools, Thomas S. Nurnberger. He provided exceptional service to the school district of Saint Louis for 33 years.

TSN is located in Saint Louis, Michigan, a small town in the geographical center of the lower peninsula of Michigan. Our school provides education for nearly 290 students in grades six through eight.

6TH GRADE STUDENTS
There are four core subjects that are taught to sixth grade students, Math, English, History, and Science. Each sixth grade student rotates into a Mini-Studies course and a Reading Rotation course. The sixth grade students are also involved in P.E. and band throughout the day.

7TH GRADE STUDENTS
The seventh grade students have four core classes, Math, English, Geography, and Science. Each seventh grade student is involved in a Mini-Studies course and Reading Rotation. Reading Rotation focuses on reading skills and involves a variety of topics picked by the individual teacher. The students also move between P.E. and band throughout the day.

8TH GRADE STUDENTS
Eighth grade students have four core classes, Math, English, History, and Environmental Science. In addition, students will have Mini Studies, Reading Rotation and P.E. Near the end of the school year, eighth grade students "graduate" to high school during the Afternoon of Excellence. Awards and special recognition are also provided at this function. The eighth grade students also enjoy incentives at the end of each marking period. These include bowling, roller skating, attending a movie, and/or a canoeing trip.
